London-Type Smog

London-type smog is when particles in coal smoke combine with water droplets in humid air and fills the air with soot. The causes are factories and homes burning coal. Consequences of this include the city becoming dirty and dark. Solutions for this would be burning less coal and using other energy sources that don't pollute. In the past 100 years, England has stopped burning as much coal which has cleaned up their city.

Hey Gabs! I liked your paragraph. There were some differences in ours though. For example, mine was that when sunlight interacts with polutants it creates a brown haze over the town. The only thing that was kind of similar was that they both had to have to things commbind to make the smog.

Hey Gabby,
It was very interesting to hear how are types of pollution is similar but also different. London type smog is caused by soot particles and water. Photochemical smog is caused by pollutants in the air that react to sunlight. IT then causes a type of ozone. Ozone in the Ozone layer is good, but not in the troposphere. This can cause burning of the eyes, throat, and lungs. We can make a difference to both of these problems by burning less fossil fuels.

Hey Gabby!! I like your paragraph. : D There are many differences in the types of smog we researched. Photochemical Smog occurs when pollutants interact with sunlight while London-type Smog forms when coal smoke particles combine with water. The causes and and solutions also have their differences.

The main difference between London type smog and acid rain is that acid rain is in a liquid form and can damage solids unlike smog it can damage someones lungs and they cant see.

Hey Gabby,
The difference between London Smog and Photochemical smog is that my smog interacts with light and yours is attaches with water droplets. But both of ours are both man made and are pollutants. Good job!!!

Hey Gabby, what's up? Your pollutant is way different then mine. Yours deals with coal smoke and the water in the air which makes smog. Mine is different then yours because it's acid rain. But that's not just why. Also it deals with factory smoke/chemicals, such as nitrogen and sulfur oxides. Those chemicals combine with water to make acidic rain. It can harm animals, plants, water ways, amphibians, and insects. Unlike yours that which makes the city dark and dirty.

Hey Gabby,
I learned new information from your post. The pollution I did was Photochemical Smog. Some difference are how they are caused. London-Type Smog is when particles in coal smoke combine with water droplets and Photochemical Smog is caused by sunlight on pollutants.
